Georg Wilhem Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831) was a German philosopher. In 1788, he studied at the University Faculty of Thubingen where he met Höderlin and Schelling. Invited to teach at the University of Iena, he published several articles and started to develop his ‘System’, later expounded in “The Phenomenology of Spirit”. Following a post of editor at a local newspaper, he founded his school at Heidelberg where he had been invited to teach. His reputation was confirmed after publishing his “Encyclopedia of the Philosophical Sciences”.
He is the author of several works, including “Differences between Fichtre and Schelling’s Systems of Philosophy”, “Critical Journal of Philosophy” “The Science of Logic” and numerous lectures published posthumously.
