Colette Poggi, indianist-sanskritist, teaches the religious and philosophical thought of India in diverse university centers in Lyon, Montpellier, Marseille, and Sanskrit. She participates to the Musée Guimet (Arts asiatiques) of Paris. Within the frame of her researches about Kashmir Shaivism she defended her doctorate in 1986 (Aix-Marseille) published in 2000 by Éditions des Deux Océans under the title
Les oeuvres de vie selon Maître Eckhart et Abhinavagupta, especially about Art as a way of freedom, then a second doctorate in Compared Philosophy (Paris IV Sorbonne, 1994) presenting the translation of a philosophical text of Abhinavagupta (X-XIe s.), to be published by the Cerf editions, in the collection Patrimoine under the title La Voie de la Reconnaissance intérieure dans le Shivaïsme du Cachemire. In the book written with E. Ruchpaul, Yoga, Source et Variation, (éd. Ellebore 2005) she suggests a way of thinking about the Indian thought under the title: Visions et expériences du corps : perspectives indiennes.
