Solomon, son of David and Bathsheba, was king of Israel from 970 to 931 B.C according to standard bible chronology. He appears in the first Book of Kings. He is known in particular for his fair and wise judgement, as seen in the ‘Judgement of Solomon’ where he settled a dispute between two prostitutes over a child. He was also the builder of the first Temple of Jerusalem.
