Jacob Boehme (1575-1624) called the ‘Philosophus Teutonicus’, was an enlightened theosophist and German mystic. Shoemaker by profession, he underwent several mystical experiences which very quickly determined his vocation and his subsequent work - the fruit of his profound illuminations. As a consequence, he developed a form of Christian theosophy which displayed both astrological and alchemical knowledge and developed the understanding of modern Christian gnosis as a metaphysical idea about the passage from non-being into being.
Amongst his main works are “Aurora”, “Description of the Three Principles of Divine Essence”, “Of Christ’s Incarnation, his Passion, his Death and Resurrection, and the Tree of Faith”, “The Great Mystery”, etc.
