Fulcanelli (1839?-?) was a mysterious alchemist who discovered the secrets of immortality and the Philosopher’s Stone before disappearing at the beginning of the 20th century. He was the author of two esoteric books on alchemical symbolism “The Mysteries of the Cathedral” and “The Dwellings of the Philosophers”, with a preface by Eugène Canseliet, his faithful disciple. Another book, “Finis Gloriae Mundi” (End of the World's Glory) was believed to have been burnt and has now disappeared.
