Constant Chevillon (1880-1944) was a Grand Master of two Masonic Lodges: “Le Rite Ancien et Primitif de Memphis-Misraïm” (the Ancient and Primitive Rite of Memphis-Misraïm) and “l'Ordre des Chevaliers Maçons Elus Cohen de l'Univers” (the Order of the Masonic Knights Elect Cohen of the Universe). He later became Grand Master of the Martinist Order and he was also the Patriarch of the Universal Gnostic Church. As a deacon, he taught religious philosophy at the Jesuits, before returning to work at the ‘Société Générale’ bank, which he then left for the ‘Banque nationale pour le crédit industriel’, where he rose through the ranks. He founded a literary society “L’attique” (Attic) and continued his focus on the occult.
Dividing his life between Paris and Lyon, he spent the majority of his time following the developments of these different world-wide occult organisations, preparing conferences, writing correspondences and managing them.
His works include "Orient et Occident" (East and West), "Réflexions sur le temple social" (Reflections on the Social Temple), "Le vrai visage de la Franc-Maçonnerie" (The Real Face of Freemasonry), "Du néant à l'être" (From Nothingness to Being), etc.
