Martinism is an initiatory way of thinking attached to judeo-christian mystic. From the writings of Martinès de Pasqually (1727-1774) and from his secretary Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin (1743-1803), the “Unknown Philosopher”, he is characterized by the spiritual experience, especially the original fall and the reintegration of the being. It aims at contemplation and peace of spirit.
Like ancient alchemists, he suggests to manage it laborare et orare, or to work and to pray.
