The 10th key of Basile Valentin at last revealed ?
Esotericism > Hermeticism

The twelve keys of Philosophy by Basile Valentin  appear in 1600 in Germany.   The book receive an illustration in 1618. The legend says the author is a Benedictine monk of the 16th century and his work was found in a hollow stone of the Erfurt abbey, hidden for two centuries... Truth is less poetic, since it is probable that the editor and alchemist Johann Thölde is the true author, and he tried a media-staged event...

The thought of Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin
Esotericism > Martinism
By : Jean-Marc Vivenza   - Monday, 21 November 2011 00:00
clai_louis_claude_saint_martinThe French word "experience", contains in German two meanings and two translations: with on one hand the notion of "Erfahrung" which involves the presence of a teaching and provokes "experimentation". On the other hand the word "Erlebnis" which evokes the experience, an inner experience, without  a practical or tangible application. End of the 18th century, men and women searching for invisibility, that is to say those who don't just "believe" but want to "experience God",

The symbolic of the hebraic letters 6: Pe, Tsadi, Qof, Resh, Shin and Tav
Esotericism > Kabbalah
By : Frank Lalou   - Monday, 14 November 2011 00:00
lalo_6_pe_tsadi_qof

When Simone de Beauvoir asserted "One is not born a woman, but becomes one" didn't she paraphrased, in others circumstances, the Hebraic letter Qof (the needle cat", or "the narrow tunnel from where no return is possible") which recalls that "one doesn't become a man, but becomes one" ? A difficult renunciation to the superficiality temptation, to eventualities of each time which suggests to embrace, with its bunch of short satisfactions but with this tragic and poisoning feeling "that one doesn't live for nothing"...

Approaching esotericism
Esotericism > Christian Esotericism

Esotericism currently suffers a tarnished image and this mishmash word has almost become pejorative. Indeed, a westerner who is now interested by that may be exposed to three "cyclone eyes" powerful, vampirics and antagonists. On one hand he has to face dogmas from established churches, on the other hand he has to tries to fertilize the cast-iron secular and horizontal screed, which shaped our academies, and besides, he has to float over the giant, parodic and consumerist tidal wave (pleonasm made on purpose), called "personal development" which corrupted our bookshops and the internet.

The symbolic of the hebraic letters 5: Mem, Nun, Samech, Ayin
Esotericism > Kabbalah
By : Frank Lalou   - Tuesday, 20 September 2011 00:00
lalo_5_mem_nun_samech

Mem, Nun, Samech evoke three feminine elements. Both motherly and reassuring (Mem) and worrying (Nun, just like the Lilith, Melusine and other Serpent...) the letters of the Hebrew alphabet is in the succession of openings and closings. To Franck Lalou who defines himself as an "admirer of letters", the Hebraic thought is comparable to an individuation way. We may be a believer or an atheist: we are waiting for everything that will get us out of the system in which we close ourselves. To him, the study of the symbolism of the Hebrew alphabet is one of the ways to the genuine Self... (or at least an understanding of the "Other's face").

Do animals have a role in the human sacred history ?
Esotericism > Sufism
By : Pierre Lory   - Monday, 29 August 2011 00:00
lory_freres_sinceres

The question of "defining the human being"' always represented a philosophical and religious stake. That is why many thought systems tried to compare man to what is superior to him: angels or inferior: animals. During the 10th century, the Muslim society was at the climax... but also questioning itself. Some wise persons (probably Ismailian Shiites) wrote a kind of encyclopedia of knowledge: "the 52 Epistles of the Brethren of Sincerity".

Numbers according to Martines de Pasqually
Esotericism > Arithmosophy
By : Robert Guinot   - Monday, 22 August 2011 00:00
guin_nombres

"If the figure is the clothe, the number represents the true being !" says Robert Guinot.  Numbers have a special meaning in the way of thinking of Martines, and to understand it, one has to forget any other type of numerology. Starting from the book "Les Nombres" de Louis-Claude de Saint-Martin and the "Traité de la Réintégration des Etres" de Martines de Pasqually, Robert Guinot talks about a subtle subject:

Alchemy in Heliopolis
Esotericism > Hermeticism
By : René Lachaud   - Monday, 15 August 2011 00:00
lach_alchimie_heliopolis

Some researchers just give their point of view.  René Lachaud prefers demonstration. According to him, the origins of alchemy are in Egypt and thanks to his huge erudition (and a huge sense of humor) he is going to demonstrate that his affirmation is true.  In a simple and direct speech, he is going to depict the symbolical sphere of pharaonic Egypt... and its operative magic.

The symbolic of the hebraic letters 4: Heth, Teth, Yod, Kaf, Lamedh
Esotericism > Kabbalah
By : Frank Lalou   - Monday, 25 July 2011 00:00
lalo_4_heth_teth_yod_kaf"The marvelous thing in the Hebraic alphabet is its great balance between the drawing, the symbolic and the ritual. On our way through the symbolic of the Hebraic letters, we shall see in this part the symbolic of the Heth-Teth, the Yod, and the Lamedh. These five letters could be summed up in the following sentence: I step back (Heth), I run towards the unknown, I jump (Teth), I find myself at the bottom of a hole (Kaf) and the providential hand (Yod) comes to rescue me. Once this step is passed, the goad (Lamedh) will give me intuition, and the energy, to always go further...
