Astrology, what for ?

To know oneself. To give a meaning to the world which surrounds us.  By which inner quest do we approach astrology ? And what is its practical application ? In spite of the discredit of which it suffers now (mainly due to a commercial over exploitation of its simplistic and distorted vision: horoscopes) astrology is an art which invites you to an inner exploration and an opening to the universe. Like every symbolical system, it enables us developing a relation to the world as philosophical as practical: "we were born at a precise moment, and we have, like the famous vineyards, the qualities of the year and of the season in which we were born"

wrote Carl Gustav Jung about astrology in Man discovering his soul.

A part of us, unconscious, belonging to the world, to the cosmos. It's this part of us, deep and "irrational" which awakens, becomes excited, at the contact of astrology. Through that the one who wants it can get out of the hyper concrete of his existence and place himself in a larger context, the one where individual consciousness meets universal consciousness.

The astrologist learned to reconstitute the exact situation of the sky at a precise moment, a birth. He has to be able to interpret the mechanicity of this celestial map placing them in resonance with an "individual universe" which comes to consult it.   A great capacity of listening and a particular receptivity are essential to understand the real problematic of this person who verbalize in a interrogative hyper concrete form, hyper precise, like our hyper rationalized world but far also hyper distant of its true ontological stakes.

"Astrology touches the sacred dimension while being open to all the possibles", asserts Luc Bigé. Our modern world, which pretends to be passionate about freedom, is based on a certain number of physical determinist laws which decreed by what Luc Bigé calls the left brain: reason which analyzes and expresses.

Does this determinism sets the bases of a real freedom ? Is real freedom the fact of going beyond this rationalist yoke ?  Is it based on that reunion between "left brain" and "right brain" and links Psyche and non verbal Knowledge, important for our elders ?

Answer in this 54-minutes round table with Lynn Bell, Rosine Fievet, Elisabeth Galton and Christian Duchaussoy, and filed at the Forum 104.
