The two albums of Tintin studied antecedently in
« Achievement of the self » (« Le secret of the unicorn » et « Red Rackham's treasure » ) talked about the first step of every initiatory process, the Little work: the self's erosion, the identification of its automatisms, the surpassing of its contradictions and the establishment of an inner peace.
In this second part, Jacques Fontaine talks about the second step of an initiatory process, the Great Work: exaltation, the opening and the fusion with the One, the wonder in front of the indescribable.
Indeed, the two following albums "The Seven Crystal Balls" and "Prisoners of the Sun" are placed under the sign of Fire: Fire of knowledge, Fire of Spirit. Thanks to many fascinating analogies borrowed to different traditions: Amerindian, African, Celtic, Far East, Jacques Fontaine makes us discover that behind the drawing, the characters and their "external" jokes an inner"symbolism" is hiding, that Hergé drew from alchemy, hermeticism, Freemasonry.
